I was at GC this Past Monday, they had a used Peavey TNT 115 220w, for $259.00. I didnt have my axe to test drive it, and no time to use one on thier wall....plus I wouldnt have the cash til payday anyway. I went back yesterday, it was still there, I plugged in and thumped away for about an hour. I was impressed to say the least! It now sits right beside me waiting for rehearsal on Monday to hear in the mix. PLUS, I got 20.00 bucks off, which I in turn, used for a 14 month warranty for $25.00! I actually had a decent GC experience, lol. I was hoping anyone that has experienced this amp would be cool enough to share thier thoughts about it. Theres also a button or two that I have no idea what the function is. It was mfg. 2003, and I have serial #, but would just like to hear opinions. Thanks rockers. |

Im playing my main axe through it, a Fender J with basslines pu's, and havent heard "muddy", but I also havent seriously rocked it yet....til tomorrow, lol. I'll let you guys know after rehearsal. |

And on the back, next to the power switch, theres a button marked like this + o - I know its on / neutral / off, but for what?! Can you tell me why there would be a ground lift button? Why bypass a ground? AAARRGHH confused! But Im real sweet on the sound right now. |

Once and a while there is a little interference, hum or a little buzz going on and by lifting the ground just to that amp it goes away.. and yes please send me you e-mail address so I can send you the book.. |

Thanks you guys, Im feeling better about the whole thing. Like I said, so far Im really digging this little monster, but didnt know if it was a good deal or not, it is 7 years old, no idea what they did cost new, but most feedback seems positive. Stoked for rehearsal tomorrow.....hate to be disappointed, but dont think I will be. |

Moved on to my GK 1001 rb-2 and ampeg 4x10 classic cab so.. I'm a little spoiled now But overall I loved the one I used. Could handle the lows pretty well for what it was and just a nice overall blend and actually able to cut through the mix nicely with a pretty loud aggressive bunch (especially drummer.) So for that price I couldn't complain, nice score!

Its true that $259.00 isnt ALOT of money, and I can easily afford it, just not so much this month, lol! Im still trying to recoup from Christmas, plus other "debts". But, it seemed like a really good deal, and I was afraid it wouldnt be there much longer if I didnt grab it. Sooo, I set myself back another 2 weeks or so financially, but as long as its worth it, its all good. I'll report after rehearsal today, cuz I too, play with an insane drummer! |

Get marine plywood cut to exact dimensions of base of cabinet, paint black, mount casters, secure a black rubber welcome mat to top of board(one with the little nibs), and use it for this and any other gear. You will be surprised how the welcome mat will make the dolly "stick" to the bottom of your cab even climbing curbs. |

The two guitards, our singer and myself rehearsed 2 new songs that arent quite finsihed yet, no drum parts to it yet but its really all we could do without him. Even still, the amp was quite impressive, easliy cut through the guitars, just disappointed I couldnt rock it against our drummer, have to wait til Friday. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
