Amp on GK Cab

If the cab's handle is on the top, how do you put a head on it? Like the GK 115MBE.

That is what I would hate to do. I might have ADHD or something because it bothers me that it is not rightside up :P And it looks nicer rightside up.

The speaker is round and there's only one of them, there is no "rightside up"

The amp I'm looking at is the Carvin BX500, and it doesn't seem like they have feet. Should I get some?

@will33
Sideways logo bother me like mad O_o

Take off the handle and put it on a different side of the cabinet?

Not a good combo? I like the tonal variety of Carvin and the lightweightedness of GK.

This would probably the last thing I do. I'm leaning more of getting feet for my amp. I have no idea about that either, any ideas where to get them?

How about turn the cab on its side and rotate the logo if the amp won't clear the cab handle. Most amps do have feet on the bottom even if hidden by the front panel overhang.

Maybe cut a piece of plywood the perfect size, sand it, paint it black and put some rubber feet on it and set it on top of the speaker and put the amp on top of the plywood.

How about getting literally anything and putting it under the amp to have it rest on that instead of the handle? Or just add rubber feet to the Carvin head. There is a special addition to the BX500 that costs $44 - SV2. You can get the BX500 in a small rack mount unit with rubber feet all set up. Amp is protected and set for anything.

It sounds like you are stressing out about a small issue. A simple fix will solve it and you are good to go. I suggest the rack case - it keeps it REALLY SAFE.

Sorry if it is a little thing, but I don't know much about amp heads and cabs. On the Carvin site, the rack mount unit says it is for the BX1500 and BX2000, but the BX500 is smaller by around 5 inches than the other amps. Will it still fit the SV2 or how will that work?

That Carvin case will work fine. Any standard rack case will work, provided you get Carvin's ridiculously overpriced rack faceplate for the BX500. I have my BX500 mounted in an SKB 4-space XRack. It's shallow, but fits the Carvin just dandy, and it's light.

But since the feet on the rack case aren't really tall enough to clear the handle on my GK 212MBE, I moved the handle to the side of the cab. Even then, the corners on the squarish top of the 212 cab didn't really accomodate the case, so I found some taller rubber feet that I mounted onto the case.

Sounds like more work and thought than it really was.

Anyway, get a rack case. It will keep the BX500 from blowing away in strong winds.

I had a b800 and absolutly hated it. Traded it in on a my first gk700rbii. At 480w the Gk easily out powered the 8oow carvin even at 2ohms for the full 800. On the other hand i have a freind who will play nothing but carvin and he sounds great. its all subjective, just wasn't for me. Ive been diehard Gk for the last few years.
