Amp Head to Combo to Cab?

Sign in to disble this ad
Is it possible to hitch an amp head up to a combo amp then use the combo amps external speaker slot to hitch it to a cab? I ask because my jazz band teacher is letting me borrow the amp over winter break so I'm adding a 210 and a 300 W amp head to my B100. I know the B100 works fine with the 210 but was wondering how I would hitch the amp head up to it.

You cannot run one head into another without blowing both

I don't completely understand what you are trying to do but it sounds like you are going to blow some gear up.

So this would be ill advised? Simply put; would I be able to hitch an amp head into a combo amp then hitch said combo amp into a cabinet?

Ball hitch or pin?

Read up on how to slave amps together. DO NOT connect speaker outs from one amp to another amp....your teacher won't be happy with you. Download the manuals for both amps and read them cover to cover before doing anything.

If you are looking for a way to run BOTH your combo, and the seperate head/2X10 cab at the same time, then it can be done.

You need to split your signal to run an input to both amps, or you need to slave them.

As stated - DO NOT RUN ONE AMPS OUTPUT TO THE OTHER AMPS INPUT.

Yes, ill-advised. Maybe if you can explain the "why". As it is, you've got a functioning combo amp, and a functioning head/cab. You can use either, or both, but what it sounds like you're proposing is both dangerous to the amps, and quite pointless.

Mostly cause the head has a distortion channel, but I guess I'll wait for a pedal lol

Pedals are a lot easier to work in a live band context anyway.
