Amp Issues

ive brought a ampeg ba112 combo bass amp, and ive had it 10 days so far. but whenever i turn on the amp and plug my jack into my bass, the amp just hisses at me. i think it might just be my bass cuz its some ****** 2nd hand ibanez one, but i still dont know. do u know whats wrong? and is there anyway i could fix the problem? cheers

If the amp only hisses when the bass is plugged in it could be a bad cable, bad shielding, or a grounding problem with the bass and etc. If you have another (good working) bass try it and see if the amp still hisses. Or try another guitar cable first.

Yup, process of elimination. Start with a new cord, then try another bass, etc. good luck.
