Amp knob face

Sign in to disble this ad
Anybody found something to use to "recover" amp knob face (or ends) that have aluminum glued on the plastic. I hate to spend $30-$40 for replacemnts knobs. Figured somebody might have discoverd something that will work pretty good. I guess I could just paint the end silver, but not sure that would look all that good.

Pardon my ignorance, but what are Hello Kitty Stickers?

BTW - your forum name reminds of our first house dog. She was like a child to us and died almost 4 years ago at age 16. Anyway, her name was Fozzy (she was a look-a-like for Fozzy Bear) and was often called Foz for short.

I love dogs... and tolerate some people. Mostly ones who remind me of dog. Dogs generally work harder than I do, are more loyal than I am, and more honest than my ego allows. I particularly like people who insist on giving me unconditional love - despite my many flaws. Every dog I ever lived with did that.

As to your ugly knobs, just stick something on the blank spots... cut something out of a magazine, or those buttons above look nice, or:

This stuff would look cool, and readily available in any town where people work on their own cars.

Thanks for the suggestions. Lots of interesting ideas, but I'm pretty much a purist and wanted to retain the original look to the ends of the knobs missing the glued on metal.

I thought Munjibunga's thought may be the least expensive remedy. So, I checked the local auto supply and found something for $5 that looked real close to original and stuck and cut and now the knobs look good and original again.
