Amp ohms question

Alright so here is the deal. I have a 1000wat 8 ohm Mesa Boogie cab (not sure what model) and have been trying to find what amp I want to pair it with. I have a soft spot in my heart for Gallien Kruegers and was looking at a 2001rb. But I'm really not sure how compatible these two will be together and would like more info. Also would love some suggestions of amps that would fit my cab. Thank you for your time!

G-K amps sound good with any quality cab I've ever hitched one up to, IMHO. Just because the cab is rated at 1000 w. doesn't mean you need a mega powered head though. ferinstance, I've run my 700RB II into two Goliath III cabs (1400 w.) for festivals, with beautiful results.

Right... so would those two work properly together? The technical sides of amps make no sense to me.

Not trying to be a douche or anything... just easier to post the links rather than re-type it all out over and over again. Those are pretty comprehensive so if you take the time to learn it, you won't have to ask now or down the line

I used a GK1001RBII for several years, and it worked fine with my 118 Boogie cab.
