Amp power for stage?

Hello!

I am looking for some relatively cheap and light combo for a club stage. I use a preamp directly into PA through XLR output. It provides the sound for the venue but I would like to have more control over a bass sound on stage in addition to stage monitors. Is 100 W transistor amp enough for this purpose?

That's entirely dependant on how loud you and your band play and if you get bass in the monitors?

Some guys can get away with a 100watt combo, others need 1000watts and an 810...

You're running you're bass through the stage monitors? That's another topic of discussion in itself.

An inexpensive 100 watt combo may leave you a bit short when contending with guitars, drums, etc. OTOH, if your band has fairly tight control over the stage volume, 100 watts with a small enclosure may be more than enough. Honestly, we don't know your situation that well.

I find as a general rule 300watts and a 212 or 410 'should' be able to cover most gigs...
