Amp Question.

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I have a Carvin Pro Bass 300 head running through a 1x15. The Head has two jacks for speakers and all, I only have 1 of the jacks running into the 1x15, Is it possible to run the other jack into my Crate B80XL Combo which is also a 1x15? Basically running the two speakers with the one head? How would I override the Crate's controls and all? Through the effects jacks on the combo maybe?

You will need to disconnect the combo's speaker from the combo's amp unit. Maybe install a jack on the cab so you can hookup an external amp to it.
Don't expect the combo's speaker to handle much power though! Best to get a 115 cab used.

Just get another cab. Whatever you do, DON'T plug the speaker output from your head into the front panel of your combo! Not in the input, not in the effects loop, nothing. If you're really bent on using the speaker in that combo, have someone disconnect the speaker from the combo's amp and wire in a jack.

Use Line-out not Speaker out

Use the line-out if you absolutely have to, and plug into the line-in on your combo. Or if your head has a slave out, you can use that into the front panel. Again, whatever you do, DON'T plug the speaker out into your combo.
