| | | | Amp Shells with rackspace hardware built-in
I'd like to obtain a 4U rackspace amp headshell.
I've seen a few rig pics in various threads and was wondering if anyone can give me a lead on where I can pick one of these up OR (even better) if you've got the plans for building one...
Regards,

Are you just looking for a rack case?

| | | No-no. Don't want a rack case. Looking for something a bit more sophisticated.
I'm looking to purchase the 4U rails and hardware and cobble together something out of wood and cover it with tolex instead of canvas.
Or, find a company that makes the shells for amp heads and install the hardware in it so that it looks more purdy and stylized. I'll see if I can find a picture and post it.
Such as what is accomplished here: http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/gea...ng-a-rack.html
And if that doesn't work: http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/x...photo/head.jpg

| | Yes I'm from GA, but I don't wear a NASCAR T-shirt | | Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Atlanta, GA | | | I bought one from the Rak-shak, some time ago. The last time I tried to order one he wasn't available to build one for me. You can check out the one I built myself on my project thread. It wasn't too complicated to put together, and I ordered my supplies from Parts-express.
I think that Carvin sells them as well, but I dont know if the offer the one they build in a four space. |

| | | The Earcandy ones look on point, but the price is not. Thanks JmJ and Wes. I'm gonna try and track down Jmac's project thread. I have a feeling I can do much better going the DIY route.

For $200 clams... I'm trying to keep it under $100.
Yuppers, looks like my best bet is to build it myself.
Either that or buy one from Rondo and reverse-engineer it. |

| | | | Thanks for the help, support and ideas. Looks like I'm gonna go with these dimensions (for now, until I get the rack hardware) and build my own.
Finished Size: 20 1/2"wide x 15" deep x 8 3/4" tall
I'll snag the tolex from Joanne's Fabrics. |

I usually don't figure my labor as I am building a project for myself, but I guess it has some inherent value (cutting in on home improvement project, practice, or TV watching time). |

I am currently working on some Bill Fitzmaurice Jack 12 Cabs to match it... I think the rig will be super-sweet when I get it all buttoned up.
