Amp for Stingray

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, everyone.
I'm planning to get a small amp head to follow me on rehersal and gigs. I'm playing something around pop, funk and not very hard rock
I suppose to get a Genz Benz Streamliner 600, but don't know if the sound fits such kind of music. And how it will work with punchy Stingray? Maybe another thoughts?

A GB Shuttle head may fit better for your intended use.

The guys on the MM forum rate the Markbass amps a lot. I use a LMIII with mostly my Fender Jazz basses but I also use my MM Sterling with it as well. Works very well indeed.

I would say Genz or TC, but I also think Markbass LM3/F500 absolutely hammers with Musicman basses.

For me, it would be either the F500, LM3 or TC RH750. The other options is the Genz SL900 if you want a very very tubey amp, or the Shuttle 9.0/Max 9.2

I've gigged a MB F1 a bunch with my Sterling. Love it. Slip it in a gig bag and I'm good to go. I have the F500 now and the F1 is a backup. Love the amp and the form factor.

I suddenly bought Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 Thanks everyone. Espessially Ed Friedland with his genz benz reviews (shuttle review wan on Stingray5, that much helped). Streamliner is more rock sounding animal.

I heard of matching an amp to a cab, but never an amp to a bass....I play my '94 'Ray though a BX500 and a pair of 1x12's....sounds like a Stingray...!

GK amps are a classic match-up w/Stingrays. They happen to be the biggest bang for the buck too.
