Hey all, I am trying to get a Reggae type project going and I need to know if you guys think my rig is powerful enough for the genre. I have a crate B80xl 990 Limited Edition, Says "200 watts max" on the back, Its a 1x15 and I also have a Trace Elliot Commando 12 which says "100 watts RMS" and "200 Watts Peak" on the back of that one, and it has a 1x12. A guy from British Audio Services told me I can run them both together through the FX loop, If I did this would I have enough power to jam?I am running a Squier Affinity J Bass also. What does TalkBass think?
Thanks a TON for the responses in advance!!

I think they COULD work. That all depends on your volume level. It takes a goodly amount of wattage to produce lows below 200 hz, which is the heart of the reggae tone. If you're not looking to be super loud, they could work well.

We are planning on playing little clubs around town, little tavern and bar type areas.
You think it would be alright there?

There's really only one way to find out. However, little bars do not like bands who play louder than the bartenders can hear the drink orders, so I imagine it would be fine.
