Ampeg 1967 B-15N: this one looks weird. Anybody know the difference?

Ampeg amplifier - collector item

I've been looking for a (preferably) late 60's Ampeg B-15N after playing one in a recording studio and loving it. I found this one on Craigslist, but it doesn't look like any of the other ones I've seen or played. They are all the "portaflex" style and this one looks different. Does anyone know what the deal is with this? Is is the same amp with different visuals or a totally different model? Thanks,
Seth

Looks like the solid state model. No goofy tubes to worry about.

It's a BT-15 head, but it looks like there might have originally been a tube head mounted to it. I thought by the time of the BT-15 they had dropped blue diamond and went to the black tolex with silver trim. Plus as far as I know, the BT-15 head was never mounted on a chassis tray. So I think this is a couple orphans that were adopted.

Definitely the transistor model, also my 1967 has what I understand to be the first year of a black tolex rather than the blue diamond covering. Can't imagine it sounding nearly as good as a tube model, but OTOH $500 ain't a bad price - it looks to be in pretty good shape if it's all original.

Based on the width of the face frame and the width of the cross bar in the grille baffle the cabinet looks like a double baffle cabinet to me, though it would be nice if they had other photos to confirm. The head is definitely not original to the cabinet.
