AMPEG 1990's SVT 200T

Hello to all Bass Heads

Need some feedback on a unit I just picked up for Cheap money. Fully functional and lots of raw power after I hooked it up to my AVATAR 4-OHM Cabinet.

Seems this was not a very popular model, not much information out there. The unit is like a Tank but realize not a TUBER but still has the gusto to make plates fall off the shelf.

Anybody have some experience with these 90's Disco machines please give a shout.

Good or Bad I can deal.

I've used one a couple of times at a practice space I rent from time to time when I didn't feel like bringing my own amp. You can get a decent tone out of it but I didn't really like it that much and its not too loud.

That was the 1st bass head I bought back in 88 or 89 from the rock shed of Cornet Music in Patchogue LI. I liked it well enough then, & found one via the internet to revisit about a year ago. I would say it was a good if not great eq section with lots of choices in mids & such. One knock would be weight distribution of the power trannie when carrying, while not super heavy it makes for a lopsided haul.

I could be wrong, but I always kinda thought the 200T was basically just the earliest version of the SVT350-series variants.

Thank You all AMPEG MAVENS

This Amp is now part of my collection of powerhouse machines. I appreciate the feedback I have considered this and agree SVT200 -T, may not be the best of the Ampegs but certainly a great practice amp to just having is sitting in a basement for weekly rehearsals.

I have other amps that I can use to GiG with, Gallien Kruger 1001 II, Very nice AMPEG B-4. SWR 4004 good examples of middel of the road workhorses.

Thank You to all the Bass Players out there
