Ampeg 210av break-in period?

Sign in to disble this ad
I just acquired a 210av, new just out of the box.

I've read a couple of threads talking about "vibration" issues. I have similar issues where the E&A strings kind of fart out, even at low volumes.

Im hoping they just need to be broken in. Anyone in more recent days have the same experience?

I popped the grill cloth and everything is tight and looks good

they do need to be broken in, but just playing on them for a while will do that. i love the 210av, but it's important to remember that these are relatively light duty sealed cabs in small boxes, so you're not going to be able to throw at them what you could with a 210 in a ported box using heavier duty speakers, especially if you boost bass response with your amp.

Turns out it was my Walkabout head. Swapped out the pre and mosfet tubes and cleared things up nicely. Not sure what was goofy with the others, but oh well.

Yeah, I was gonna' say, the 210AV I had thumped pretty good and handled low tunings and boosted bass easily...
