Ampeg 410 cab question?

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently have an ampeg set up, SVT 450 head and a matching 410 cab. My question is.
If I get another 410h cab, will my head have enough power to handle two 410 cabs?
The guy at the local music store said it would be perfect. I was thinking about getting a bigger head for both cabs. But he said the two together would sound great with the one head running at lower ohms.

He is correct... If you run two 410he cabs (4 ohm load total) you'll get the full 450 watts out of that head. No need for anything else.

I recomend trading the 410 in for a 610HLF, it's 4 ohm, you'll only have to move one cabinet and believe it or not, the 610 is easier to haul around than the Ampeg 410's! The 410's are so short, that the Ampeg tilt back dolly-caster system just doesn't work very well. It's a pain in the @$$!!!!!
The 610 will rock the house too!

this is true assuming our op meant to type 410he. if it's a 410hlf, it's already at 4 ohms, and two of them would cause the go into fault mode and/or possibly burn it up. but if it's a 410he, then it would, indeed be a 4 ohm load with two of them, which is fine for the head.

but since he typed 410h, it could go either way.
