AMPEG 410 Horn Issue

Low hour cab started producing annoying noise. Horn rheostat, when rotated counter-clockwise cancels out noise. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE?

So, turning down horn reduces the noise............... not surprising, actually............

Cabinets "re" produce the signal given them..... "Noise" could mean distortion, or i could mean hiss, buzz, etc.

The horn can distort, which is "its fault", or it can reproduce his or buzz that the amp produces.

Which is it?

Yes I USED TO work for Ampeg...but I haven't forgotten everything.
