Ampeg 410HE for GK 800RB?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi. I just got a pretty good offer for an 8ohm Ampeg 4x10 Cabinet (Classic 410HE). It's 500W (1000w RMS). A long time ago, I actually had the 410HLF (4ohm cab) and I was pretty pleased with it.

This cab, though, has an 8ohm impedence and my head is biampable with one output rated at 100W at 8ohms and the other 300W at 4ohms. Right now I'm using 1x18 speaker (since it's all I have that works) rated at 8ohms (don't have actual wattage on me).

Basically, I'm worried about it not being loud enough even if I run it out of the 300W output. I could also run it parallel with the 18 (or another 15 I have that I need to re-cone since it's currently busted).

Is it worth buying this cab rather than spending over 2x for a 4ohm cabinet? What would be the best way of making the most of it if I do purchase it? thanks
