Question Ampeg 410he vs Hartke vx410+ vx115 ????

Sign in to disble this ad
I play with an Ampeg SVT4PRO
i was looking for an ampeg 410hlf cab..but they doesn't arrive to my country (Argentina).

So... I've got 2 options

1) go for the ampeg 410 he (but i wont get a full the low end of the 410hlf)

2) Get the 4x10 and the 1x15 hartke cabs (not good...but 2 cabs to get a full sound)

can you get hydrives? if so, i'd get two 410's or an 810 if you don't mind the big size of one cab. the hydrive 410's can get pretty deep. deeper than most 810's. but i like the 410he too. if it's the older hartke cabs, i'd go 410he personally, but just as many people would say hartke.

I like Hartke stuff but the VX cabs are horrible (IMO of course). An SVT4PRO is wasted when used with these cabs, your tone just won't reach its potential. I'd choose the Ampeg 410HE any day over the VX410 + 115. If you need more volume at a later date add another 410HE, very nice with the SVT4. 410s with 115s are not the way to go despite what you see all too often.

+1 two of those SVT410he cabs would essentially be like the SVT810. Tight and solid sounding, not to mention loud. The 410/15 combo is a waste of effort, as the 15 in no way can keep up with the 410, thereby limiting your output to whatever the 15 can handle.

In Hartke, either go HX410 (HyDrive) or tried and true 410XL.

Transporter (TP) or Paper cone (VX) is not up to the standards of the rest of the lineup, especially the VX. Can you say "low end budget market"? I don't like the "attack" cabs either.

I have several XL cabs that I've played for years, and I'm getting ready to upgrade to the HyDrives....One of the main reasons is weight. HyDrive 410 only weighs about 60 lbs, and handles 1000w. I'm not getting the HyDrive 15, because I'm not a fan of large single bass speaker cabs..Been there-Done that.. Four tens will give all the bottom you need, take more power, and enhance mids and highs. Doesn't matter how deep it sounds if it's just an indescernible rumble.
