ampeg 410HLF grill cover moving

Did a gig this weekend and i pushed my amp a bit louder than normal. The cab started to vibrate the grill cover out, any way to "fix" this without glue? (in case i need to change speakers later). Also the "turn down" advice will not be considered.

Ampeg Grills do that a LOT. I've had that problem with 8 X 10 cabs and the 6 X 10 cab I have now. Sometimes they would just fall off while I'm moving the cab.

I've always ended up using screws to hold the grills on.

Just tap it back in with something like a rubber hammer or the butt end of a regular hammer- there are velcro type fastners on the back of the grill that need to catch in order to hold it on.

I would have thought even with wrapping the American Flag around the grill would help keep it snug.

Not if the velcro is being impeded from holding properly.

Also, by putting an additional layer of cloth over the grill, you increased resistance to the air being moved by your speakers.

Yet, you start the thread saying you pushed your amp harder then normal

Even at low volumes, you are restricting airflow from your cones. If the air cannot move freely, it is providing resistance against your cones.
