Ampeg 450h & Ampeg 810e

So here is the deal, picked up a ampeg 450h last night for a little over $200. I am pairing it with a 810 and sansamp. I currently use a b2r in my practice space with my post-hardcore band. Now do you think the 450 will keep up volume wise? its a b2re in clothes. so the added watts should work for me. This isn't going to be my live rig, at least not unless I have to.

Yes, it is a B2RE in clothes, as you put it. It'll have what? 100 more watts? You will get some extra headroom, but don't expect miracles with the volume boost...probably won't be much louder, but if the B2R worked for you, so will the 450h.

Yeah the b2r works fine for me, when I was gigging with it I never pushed it past 1/2 volume. I just needed something to keep at my bands studio instead of lugging a rack back and forth 3 times a week, and then taking it with me to other shows with other bands. I needed a home rig, band rig and one I can keep at college for Jazz, Practice, and what not. My jazz combo play a lot of bars and coffee shops in the Detroit/Flint area.

Note: "half volume" is a misnomer. The position of the dial means nothing. Many amps rum at full output with the dial at noonish. Just fyi.

Right, All I meant was I didn't have to blast the volume and gain to produce the volume i need. When I had the b2r in the practice room which is about 10ft x 12ft with a slanted roof and studio foam covering the walls. you could feel the bass everywhere. and you could hear it through the thick walls outside the barn anywhere in the yard.
