Ampeg 810 Cabinet Internal Dimensions Question

Sign in to disble this ad
Is it safe to assume that the 4 internal compartments in an 810 cab each have equal volume?

I ask this because from the outside, one might think that the top and bottom compartment might be smaller due to the angled backs, but this could be compensated for with the placement of the internal baffles.

I own the 810AV if that matters, but I think this is a general question.

I am interested because I have considered for a long time whether I should spend the money on upgrading a couple of the speakers to the new B810's and wondered if it mattered (for recording purposes) which compartment I place them in.

Just thinkin'.....

As far as I know the compartments have equal volume.

Yes, as Okabass said, same volume. The geometry of the top and bottom chambers is obviously different. If the batting is installed as it is supposed to, I think that the speakers will see all of them as the same.
