Do we know what speakers are in the new 810E, AV and Heritage cab's. Is the AV the same as an E, but for the grill cloth?.

From what I know, I'm pretty sure the E and AV have the same speakers. The Heritage has different speakers although I think the internal baffling is the same.

Ah as I thought, so the extra expense is the Vintage silver cloth.

Yes. And the tolex is a little different (a little smoother and more leather like, the E is more 'pebbley')

The speakers in my AV were Chinese Eminence. Sounded great, but I upgraded to Eminence Legend B810's (which I'm VERY happy with).

Between the the E and AV, I meant, with just the grill being different.

On the Heritage they quote 15mm Birch, but I thought the originals were thicker than this?.

the originals were 3/4". as long as it's braced well, the thickness of the wood doesn't have to be 3/4". and those cabs are braced very well.

wow, never knew the av was more expensive. well, it does look better

It is, and it does...

I got mine used (but unplayed) It was worth the upcharge to me to match my VR, and I just like the look, but it's probably a much bigger upcharge than necessary.

Certainly over in the UK an E is £850 and the AV is £999, so if they're the same but for the grill, I think we're having the blue/silver cloth pulled over our eyes.

I like the idea of the Heritage and the fact it's got US speakers, as I'm not so sure on the Chinese Eminence anymore, but the cost over here is £1300 for the Heritage.

it's $1300 over here for the heritage, too. frankly, i'm way more into the chinese eminences than i was the eminences they used in the usa cabs since 2000.

edit: that's not including the speakers they use in the heritage 810e. they have a redesigned new speaker for the heritages.
