| | | | Which Ampeg amp do you own Based on the other poll, Ampeg seems to be king of the bass amps. So for those who have one...or two, which Ampeg do you own? |

It was cheap. It sounds good. It is not my go too amp.

The 4 Pro/410 HLF has been my go-to for several years but I just resurrected my Ashdown ABM 500 EVO II 210T combo and I have to say, and Jimmy isn't going to like this, that it flat kills both of my Ampegs for the kind of fat, warm, bass tone that I prefer. It's an older UK manufactured example and it hasn't been without its issues (the transformer came loose at one point and nearly wrecked the rest of the internals, for instance), but now that it's been gone through I remember why I loved it so much.

I had a 1973 "blue line" SVT back in the late 70's/early 80's when I was playing full time and it was, is, and will probably always be "the one" as far as I'm concerned. I've always been a Fender Precision kinda guy and the SVT circuit and the P-Bass go together like "bread & buttah", IMHO. I also have Tech21 RPM and VT Bass Pedal V2 preamps, both of which give me an SVT-esc sound as well as a B-15-esc sound in the case of the VT Bass Pedal.
* I mostly use just the power section of the B2-RE with my various preamps.

I've played through Ampeg exclusively for 39 years now.

But it's been down for a while and I'm using other amps for work.
