2001 SVT CL+2001 810E
SVT450H
For those of you have owned them, between the 3, do you like the CL, VR, or SVT II PRO best? Is the difference between WORLDS or am I just splitting hairs by comparing them?

Not so much. Only a SVP Pro. But it works together with my poweramp and the Tecamp L 810.

I don't own any of them, but I've played all of them on stage many times. I used to prefer the VR by a little bit, but then I got hipped to cranking the master in CL's up to 3:00 and using gain to control volume, and it sounds a lot closer to what you get with a VR or vintage SVT, so now I don't have a clear favorite anymore. And other than the drive circuit and the graphic EQ in the 2 Pro, I really couldn't tell much of a difference between it and the CL.

SVT II non-pro: sweet, warm, and wonderful.
SVT 6-pro: the biggest, clearest bottom end of any amp I've tried. Love it.

PF-500 as my only amp. Used with a Fender Rumble 4-10 (700W) for smaller stages (most) and add a Sub loaded w/ 15" eminence for large stages. Have had many compliments on tone from many sound guys.

I've got an SVT-200T solid state combo 4x12 from the mid-80's. Great amp, cranks just like a tube Ampeg.

SVT PRO7 is the amp that made me bring the P Bass out from under the bed after a few years of hiding.

The King of bass amps is the SVT. After lusting for one forty years, I finally have one. A VERY early (we think the 12th one) MTI unit that still has the Magnavox (70's) circuitry using American parts. It is a tone MONSTER. It offers a bazillion tone options and appears incapable of making a bad tone.

I also have a cherry VT-22. I intend to transplant the amp section into a head box, preserving the rest of the (excellent condition, unmolested) combo. A V4B is an excellent choice. At only 100 watts, one third the power of an SVT, it still has PLENTY O' power. And plenty of tone.

Finally, I have a BA-115HPT, which is also a good amp. But.....lacks the muscle of the other two. Its 200 solid state watts are wimpy compared to the 100W VT-22, let alone the SVT.

It is hard for me to imagine how people can hear these old Ampeg tube amps and not notice their tone is vastly superior to all other amps.

Ya, I struggle with that one, too But I'd also include new Ampeg tube amps in there as well, although the old ones have a coolness factor that's hard to beat.
