I agree

Back in the 80's/90's, Ampeg used to offer a headcase to help achieve that look.
I think the 2-Pro might have sold better If this head case was still avalible:

Sad the market couldn't support these amps.
Other than power, what is the tonal differences between the 7 & 8 Pro?

SVT2Pro discontinued ?

Fortunately, Peavey makes the wonderful VB3.

We were proud to introduce to you "How to lose customers, chapter VII", by Ampeg.

If people aren't buying an amp, it has to go, that's just how it is. Clearly, a lot more people buy the CL and VR. The evidence is just too overwhelming.

The 2-Pro was actually the only modern Ampeg amp I really liked. I was quite surprised to see them discontinued.

Agreed/so do I, but I sure like the look of my Ampeg SVTRC headcase better than any other rackcase I've found...

I really liked the 2 Pro a lot but like the wonderful but also heavy Mesa Boogie 400+ it is also no longer made. I think bass players are looking for lighter amps that are easier to transport as well have less maintance. Aguilar's heavy 728 all tube amo is also no longer made. These new class D Amps made by many company's sound great and weigh like 5 pounds.

I wouldn't mind having one of those head cases for my 2 Pro. Anybody know where to get one?

You're right, Jimmy, but not too many high-ends amps offer all-tube + drive control + graphic EQ. The SVT2Pro was #1 on my list. Next !

The "graphic eq" was the feature I didn't like. I didn't even like using them on PA's, too destructive (easy to use wrong). JMHO

I love the SVT-RC rack case too, but yeah, I also do dig the cool silver&blue grill more. Lots of good tube heads on the market right now, I personally favour the Traynor YBA-300 or a Super Bassman if I can't go with an SVT.

Really anxious to see what Ampeg comes up with for their updated V4B. And their less costly B-15 as well.

The updated V4B is tops on my GAS list. I still say coupled with an SVT810, it is the best bass tone I've ever gotten. Used that combo for 10 plus years of club work.

Agreed. Just my personal visual taste and functionality aside but I think EQ sliders look cheesy and out of place on an Ampeg tube head.
