Ampeg B-1 Tube Pre??

It is a complete amp, not just a preamp. These are nice, just not lots of power.

Not much power available with that one, I'd steer clear unless you don't need a gig rig.

I'd buy it for home noodling and possibly some recording if it was within easy driving distance.

It is interesting in that while his description is slightly misleading, it is the total truth in that you can rack this with a power amp and just use the tube pre in it and have a nice Ampeg pre for $100 ... Pretty good deal! Cheers.

The Ampeg website still has this head's big brother http://www.ampeg.com/products/b/b2re/index.html but they no longer make the really big brother in the B line the B4r (I had one for over a year) it produced a kilowatt mono-bridged @ 4 Ohms. Pretty nice for SS and even better with a VT pedal in front of the pre.

I need a practice rig before I pick up random amps I don't need. It is interesting though. A b series amp with tubes. Kind of rare.. Someone should pounce on it.
