| | | | Blazin' deal! This could be a NC (cathode bias, 25w) or a NF (fixed bias, 30w) depending on when in '65 it was made.
EDIT: It looks like it has the wider cross member across the speaker so it's likely a NF. Could you post a pic of the inside? I'd like to see if this is one of the double baffles with the smaller ports.

| | | | he said the woman had it in a closet for 35 years...
with the bass & a microphone she plugged into the amp when she sang...
played it at his house with his bass for a few hours & played about 45mins when I got home...
SOUNDS GREAT !!

| | | That's likely one of the very last NC's made, I have a NC from a couple months earlier that has the narrower cross member. I can't see the ports in the baffle from that pic, but since its an NC it should have the standard size ports - the very last double baffles had smaller ports, but I've only seen that on NF's. Another thing I've noticed about the '65's is the chrome colored speaker baskets on the square mag CTS's - most were painted black. Quote:

| | | | Congratulations on the new amp. I feel that the NC is the most desirable model.
It looks like some maintenance has been done, which is a good thing. The power supply has been re-caped. The speaker cable has been changed as well as the cab connector. A lot of these amps have had this mod. Also it looks like the power transformer was changed. This is fairly common as well as the old ones like to blow. You have a better transformer in there now than the one that came with the amp.

On my '71, the green wire is attached to the Red marker on the speaker terminal, which I assume is positive. On yours, it's not. Guess it depends on who was doing the wiring that day at Ampeg .

I use mine on gigs all the time.
