I've been in the market for a 4x10 stack over the past few weeks and believe I may have came to a decision.

Ampeg B-series B-410 HLF cab with an Ampeg B2RE head.

Does anyone have any opinions or experiences with either this head or this cab?

Thanks in advance!

No, but read the reviews. Does'nt seem to have any bad fans yet. I'd say go for it, pickup a Sansamp bddi or RBI you will be set.

Too bad you aren't closer I could fix you up with one of my used 4PRO's and an SVT-410HLF. The SVT-410HLF is considerably better than the B; and a B2RE is a toy.

Would you not reccomend the B-2RE then? What would be a superior alternative in the same relative price range?

Yeah in the same price range? A good clean SVT-3PRO from somebody up there in your area where you can hook up your cab and bass and play it.

Also an SVT-410HLF is a lot more cab than the B version. Sure its at used prices but so much more cab for your money. I'd let mine go to a TB guy for $375. You should come and see Mt Rushmore and the corn palace and take mine home :-)

The cheapest I'd let my used 4PRO (I have 4 newish ones) go is $750 and its 16 times the amp as the B2. BUt I'd want you to play it and convice yourself.

i just sold my B2RE + B410HLF

SVT410LF > B410HLF ...due to size and extra $150 i coulnt get the SVT but in the store i was wishing i was taking the SVT home....the B410HLF doesnt even have Speakons...which is becoming the standard for amps/cabs these days....the horn WILL blow....the grill and tolex is thin and weak.......casters are good
the SVT is soooo much better for only a lil more

the B2RE is not that bad, lots of EQ options Speakon out, Balanced DI out, fan gets noisy after time and runs hard immediatly after turned on....power is there, used at about 1/2 on stage in heavy band with 2 guitarists and hard hitting drummer.....it is a heavy amplifier at 26lbs....all cheap Ampegs made in CHINA if thats important to ya

also DEF buy used if you can specially at prices like rbonner listed...i think I want one of yer 4PROs lol.....

none of it failed after 2yrs use...i just wanted an upgrade to - Line6 Bass PODxt Live / Crown XLS1500 / G-K 210BLX / Markbass 104HF

good luck
