Ampeg b25b cab w/ eden nemesis head

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, i just got an Ampeg b25b 2x15 cab from a friend at a good price. After i got it i noticed it's input is 16 ohms, but my Eden Nemesis bass head only has a 2 ohm output. Could this damage the cab somehow? And i'm also in the market for a new head, so what would fit nicely with this cab? Thanks!

An original B25(B) head would go amazing with that cab. Wish I had that cab.

+1 the B25b head IS the perfect match, but you won't hurt anything using the cab with your current amp. It'll just put out less power.

The only caveat I have is that if these are the existing speakers they will be of fairly low wattage. You'll have to be careful you don't stress them too far with a modern amp.

Like all vintage amps the B25 is a sought after item. While they do pop up now and again you be lucky if you find one.

Just out of curiosity, what model of Nemesis head do you own?

My Eden is the 650 watt solid state head. It's the nemesis series /: but I do really need a tube head. Would an ampeg svt classic be alright through this cab if I can't find a b25b head?

Hey OP. I also have a b25b cab. It's amazing! First though, it has a switch that makes it 16 OR 4 ohms. I've mainly used a Kustom200 with it, but last week I used my GK 400rb instead. It's crazy loud. As long as you don't push too many watts into it (assuming it has original speakers) you'll love it. Any head I've used with it sounds incredible. Other than the Kustom and GK, I have used a Peavey Mark VI, a Sunn Colliseum, Sunn 300T, Sunn 2000S and a Sunn 200S (which I believe is comperable to a B25 head, and sounds great dispite it's low wattage!). Enjoy it!

my buddy runs a V4-B through that cab and it sounds massive. More affordable Ampeg tone than buying an SVT IMO.

He's also upgraded the speakers though...
