buy it. it's not the most powerful combo you'll ever hear, and it's really only good for light duty stuff (or as a monitor if you have pa), but man, what tone! one of the best products slm ever produced.

Whats SLM? Is $100 a good price? I'm not 100% keen on ampegs (other than that B15N lol), so I want to be able to flip it.

SLM is St Louis Music, the company that owned Ampeg from 1986-2005. i don't think $100 is a great great price, but it's pretty good. you will be able to flip it for at least that imho. but even as a fellow b15n owner, i don't think you'll want to flip it once you hear it.

I don't own one yet, but I'm working on it. He actually asked $125, I'm thinking I should go $75, cause its not in perfect condition. Lemme get a pic up.

couldn't quite tell, but if that's blue checker, i'd pay $125 for it. you can always get a new handle fixture.

Check out the reviews of that amp on harmony central. Everyone seems to love it. I also think $100 is a steal. I just ordered a new one and the price here is $350. I also love the blue checker, i wonder if the original owner put that on?

Nice inexpensive amp. I use one for my acoustic gigs in small venues. Sounds great with my Tacoma Thunderchief and with my dawghouse. 1/4" line out for a PA so I go to a DI and then the board for larger gigs and use it as a stage monitor.

No reply yet. I wish I would've offered $75. I'm just really worried about getting my money back on everything bass related I buy (except for strings, picks and cables of course), if not make a profit to get myself a better amp. I might try and fix it up and sell it for a Fender 150 (or 200 I don't remember) rumble at my local store thats like $300.

If you can still get it for a hundred, do it! That is, if everything checks out and there are no weird/excessive noises, or signs of wear. I bought one off of CL used for a hundred recently and have been thrilled with it. I expect it to last fifty more years. The USA Ampeg BA110 and BA112's were made VERY solid and reliable.

I know because I have a 110 that I bought new that got daily use until a wire came loose. Soldered it back on and it'll be good for the next fifteen years.
Their tone is warm and smooth, without a lot of coloration. They're good on their own but respond well to the few pedals I use (BBE compressor and VT Bass).
If you decide that you hate it, it'll sell pretty easily.
Go for it!

And another worry is wattage. I'll be gigging soon (small blues bars) and a 50w amp doesn't seem like enough. I was thinking more like 300-500w amps.

Edit: as I was telling my friend, I could buy it and trade up and trade up and trade up until I have a old 60's sunn rig. lol

I'd buy it. I own one and bought it because it's so small and light-weight, THEE best sounding combo I've ever tested.
Add a Aphex Bass Xciter between your bass and the amp and it sounds twice as big, AND you get a balanced DI to get your signal to the PA!

Playing out at small blues bars? Should handle it well if you have a bass with medium to hot pickups (and you're not going up against a drummer).

And - don't forget the balanced out.... lots of musicians are going to smaller rigs for loading in/out and letting the FOH handle more volume if needed. Just think how cool you'd be!
