AMPEG BA115 INQUIRY - SETTING SUGGESTIONS?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all.

I know there's probably a lot of info if i search, but thought I'd start a new thread anyway.

I just got an almost new BA115 amp. But I am a novice at these combos. I am playing (for now) either a Fender MusicMaster/Fender Mustang for practice and gigs at small venues so i thought this would be a great amp.

But a request from all of you Amp Honchos out there. Please give me guidance on how I should keep the settings. Best suggestions on how to set up everything from the input, gain, master, style, treble, ultra mid, bass, etc.

Really appreciate the insight and experience.

Best,

Joey

I'm in a pretty loud rock band, and this amp barely covers the sound. I mean just barely. If it were any weaker I would be out buying a new amp. Otherwise, I find that if I roll the bass, and mids about 3/4 the way, and leave the treble at around 9 o'clock I tend to be able to live with the sound. I also like to leave the tone control in either the 1 or 2 position, usually 2. I also leave the master and volume at max and sometimes roll down the volume if need be.

hope that helps.

This is a great start. My band is fairly loud but not over-the-top-metal loud. Thanks.. Will use your suggestions.

That is pretty subjective.. whatr sounds great to one player may not be as great to the next. The best thing to do is let your reas be the guide.. When I used that amp what I did was first I left the EQ flat and just fiddled with the style switch to get an idea of what each one did.. then I jiust played with the EQ in each style till i found combinations I liked..
