Ampeg BA115HP

i have a question about my amp. it's an Ampeg BA115HP, and it's got a tweeter built in. My problem is whenever i hit an open D, (or the 5th fret on the A string) i get this hissing/buzzing kind of sound, which appears to be coming from the tweeter (i can't really tell exactly). I just had the amp serviced for all sorts of problems, including the tweeter, so i don't know if i should bring it back or what. I can't really hear it when the volume is up real loud, but when im practicing at home, it's pretty annoying. i also dont understand why it's only happening when i hit those notes. has anyone had this problem, or know how i can get rid of the slight hiss? thanks.

Hey, I had the exact same problem with my identical amp. Mine was a vibration between the horn and the wood. My whole amp was a rattling mess . I took a hook type tool to pull off the front speaker grill (It,s vellcro-ed on), then unscrewed the horn and made a cardboard gasket to go between the horn and the wood cabinet and screwed it back in. That fixed that part. Then I also took the woofer out and put some foam rubber inside the speaker enclosure to insulate the case from the sound waves. That further reduced rattling. Now it sounds 100% better.
I have heard a lot of this same complaint on these BA-115 and BA-115HP's. I bought mine cheap on e-bay and I don't think they knew how to deal with the vibrations.
I love it now - built in tuner, mute, direct out.
I hope this helps.
