Ampeg BA115HPT volt. conv. 115 V --> 230 V

Hi Folks,

I did a search and learned that it is possible, but couldn't find precise instructions. The owner's manual lists operating voltages of 115 V/60 Hz and 230V/50 Hz.

I might try to bring my Ampeg BA115HPT to China (!) for a tour and would like to be able to make the conversion myself. Anyone want to advise?

I can dismantle and include pics, it that'll help.

Thanks

Check out http://fileshare.eshop.bg/equipment_mfg/Ampeg_5.html
There is a scheamtic there for BA115A, which may be similar to your amp.
If you are not experienced with mains voltage wiring, do not attempt to change any internal wiring. Take it to an amp tech, or even tv repairman.
Also, check there is not a voltage selector switch

Andy, Thank you very much. I won't risk my or my amp's health by mucking around with it. Used to be an electrician and I'm pretty sharp with this stuff. But that ain't 100% certainty. I'll bring the box and the print to someone experienced.

Thanks again. TB is the best!
