I want to pick up a new combo amp and have narrowed it down to these 2. I have played a Ampeg 115HP @220 watts but that is as close as I have been able to come and have not played the Fender yet. The fender has a few things I like about it. I like the option to plug in a mp3 player and headphones for home use, which you cannot do on the BA300 series. I like the fact that the Ampeg has the tube pre amp and just an all around great Ampeg tone. I wont be able to play the Ampeg before I buy but do plan on playing the Fender as it is at a local CG.
Just want to know if anyone has one of these and has any input on it. I have read all the reviews but not being able to A/B them I wont ever really know which one is gong to be best suited for me. Looking for good tone and volume. I am playing a Jazz bass and I typically use a pick although I have been working more and more on my finger style. Not a slap and pop player. Classic rock to 90's rock with a loud drummer. Small to medium gigs in our future or at least I hope.
Any input would be great.
