Ampeg BXT410-HL4 and LowDown400

Hello all!

I would like to first say that I am in no way trying to sell the cab I am talking about on here I am just looking for some opinions.

So about a year ago I bought a Line 6 LowDown 400 head and FBV Mkii Express due to all the "neat" effects built into the head. When I bought this cab I was looking for a lightweight cab to go along with it, but the guys where I bought it talked me into buying their only Made in the USA Ampeg 4X10 with the old oval insignia and all. So I bought it and figured I could deal with the extra weight and I would be happy. Well, in January the FBV pedal just flat out stopped working for no reason (I take very good care of my gear). Now when I bought the head, it took 2 months to come in from Line 6 and it took another 2 months from January to fix my pedal. Now I have a new pedal and things are working fine, but I worry that things will go awry with my stuff again and in addition I have had to go to the doctor for back pain related to my cab. So at this point I am looking into the new GK super lightweight cabs and possibly their MB800 bass head. But at the same time, I have limited funds and if I want to acquire those items I will have to part with my current setup. Now, as far as I have seen "Made in the USA" music equipment generally sells for more money than foreign made items. I was wondering what any of you would expect to get for this gear if you were trying to sell it. I would rather not lug it over to GC and have them lowball me so I can walk away swearing. If I bring this to GC or Daddy's what can I expect them to tell me, and if I try to sell it on Craigslist or Ebay what should I expect from there. Any input is welcome. Thanks guys.

Sell on craigslist. In order to find correct pricing on your gear, be sure to check prices in nearby cities / states.

GC will always lowball you. I once lugged a 4x15 cab, head, and fender bxr300c to GC, which ended in a ridiculous offer... not even 1/4 the price I was expecting.

The BXT 410 is not in production anymore - If it is in good condition, I say you could get $600 for it on Craigslist. I think it was $1200 when it was new.

GC is going to give you a terrible offer for the used gear. Craigslist or selling on TB is a much better idea.

Try as many lightweight cabs as you can and buy the one that sounds good/is loud enough for you.

Thanks for the advice guys... the last time I tried selling to GC they wanted to bend me over the table pretty much. I think Craigslist might be a much better idea.

I had two BXT 4x10 cabs. I purchased them brand new for $800.00 ea.

I sold one for $400.00 and the other for $300.00. I would say $400.00 is fair market value for a good condition BXT. I sold them on Craigslist.
