So Ampeg now has a distribution agreement to get their products into China. That should boost their sales numbers and profits.
Way to go Ampeg! Good things goin' on for you. |

They've had manufacturing operations in China for 5 years now. Could they not sell their products there before?

Took all these years, but what the hey!!
Congratulations Ampeg!!
I would LOVE to know the price points on the gear, however....somehow I can't see a guy making .50 cents an hour buying a $2,000 dollar rig.....

Would it be nice if they were made in the USA, sure.
Well I should say assembled in the USA because all of the parts to make the USA made amps from any brand has tons of parts from overseas. Keep drinking that American made Kool-Aid. We outsourced America a looooong time ago. |

The bottom line IMHO is that many American business' created their own downfall by looking to Asia so cut costs.

Truth is we're all guilty as sin. The owners of the companies, the stockholders, the workers, the customers...we've all created the situation. If we want manufacturing to return, we're all going to have to give up something along the line...less profit, less wages, higher costs...
But that's got about as much chance of happening as Paris Hilton winning the Nobel Peace Prize, so here we are.
