Ampeg Classic 115

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey fellas (and ladies)!

I have the opportunity to buy (or trade) for a used Ampeg 115. I think it's the precursor to the current SVT115E. I'm hoping to trade away one of my acoustic guitars for it (the owner is looking for one).

What do you guys know about these cabs? I'm currently headless, I'm trying to slowly piece something together as I have the cash.

I'm having trouble finding info about this on the interwebs.

Thanks!

I have one. 8 Ohm cab, rather light speaker (if it is original...which I believe it is) combined with a lighter cab. At least, compared to my 4x10HE Classic. Mine has casters (I bought it new so I dunno if they come with them) which are great, but of course have the drawbacks of casters on a cab.

I got mine for $240 after driving to pick it up, and it was in like new condition. I see them all the time and want to get another...just for kicks.

Excellent sound - they made them for the SVT so you can expect quality. Mine only gets better with the 4x10 as well.
