Ampeg Fridge Light Show!!!

I'm not going to make a lot of friends with this post but here's my cab:

I had a bum speaker and took out the pair for the time being. The remaining speakers sound great and are plenty loud and the wonky impedance is no problem for my head.

Now...I've been thinking of putting something else in there. Maybe spot lights, strobe lights, projectors, etc.

Any other cool ideas?

Also any good ideas on how to get power to what ever install in there?

I was thinking about drilling the smallest hole possible and feeding the electric through it. I would just need to have an idea on how I would seal it up later.

Also, would it be dangerous to keep the insulation in there? Even with LED's or other not-very-hot light sources???

Sometimes there really is a very, very simple answer to a somewhat complex question

I think you need to make whatever modification (politically green) perhaps if you made the bottom sealed compartment into a Hamster cage and fit Hamster wheels in the speaker holes you could power the head without recourse to mains electricity.

Why didn't I think of that?

I'm trying to have fun here. I'm in a metal band. Make sure you throw all common sense out the window.

I've toyed with the idea of running a dog machine into a ported cab, just to see if I could get it to blow smoke rings to the best of the bass.

Don't you think that could hurt their little hamster ears?

I liked Dog Machine. I felt like an idiot for not knowing what one was. That sounds like a good band name.

Damnit! You beat me to that exact comment.

We were either separated at birth or are on the same "not-very-well-tested" anti psychotics.

OK so the Hamsters could wear ear defenders or just get ones that are already deaf.

I'm starting to like this green idea. We could have fans ride bikes that power the PA and HVAC!!!

A dog machine would definitely be more metal than a fog machine.

Just wondering if removing the 2 speakers affects the impedance of the cab?

Yes. It's a 6 ohm cab now. I like to call it my vintage (80's-ish) 6x10.
