I'm just looking to invoke some conversation + opinions on the following:
1) Are 2 stacked Ampeg SVT-410HE's (with horns off) the same as 1 SVT-810E?
... and
2) Would it be fair to say that 1 SVT-410HE is one-half of an SVT-810E?
I've never been able to get all cabs side-by-side for testing, but I know some of you can answer this with hands-on experience
Cheers!

The HE being 8Ohms does seem louder but I prefer the HLF410 for bottom. Currently, I am selling locally on CL list (1)810E,
(1) he and (1) HLF and also (1)115B. All in all in my garage, the 810E sounds the best, I can tell you that. |

Thats mainly due to the box dimensions, and baffle systems used in the cabs, as well as how they are tuned.
I would think your best bet at an 8x10 recreate would be 4 SVT210AV cabs. Those cabs are basically the same as the 8x10 just mini...
All ampeg cabs sound good, but slightly different. |

I've heard that the 410HE is actually 2 sectioned compartments of 2, 2x10s, thus being one-half an 810E if the horn is turned off
Also, too, the depth + width dimensions on the 410HE are the exact same as the 810E, and built of the same materials
The plot thickens ...
Where is Bill Fritzmaurice when you need him? :-)
Cheers!
