I'm using the Ampeg Micro Stack, would like a bit more volume; anyone had experience using the two of the matching cabinets vs one??...I'm especially interested in the volume increase, if any. Thanks...

Thanks... | Are you talking about the Ampeg micro VR? If so, and you're think of adding other cab then search. There's a ton of threads on this subject.
If you're talking about another Ampeg micro stack then the general rule of thumb, for any amp for that matter, is more speakers, more volume.

They advertise it very clearly as a 200w amp at 4 ohms and 150w at 8 ohms. Plus it's not a combo...it's two separates.

Combo or separates.
Ignorant buyers, newbies or not, have been duped and will get duped no matter what. A law of nature I'd guess.
Furthermore, it'll only bug people who don't understand plain wattage in the advertisements in the first place .

Does 80%+ of what I need; just want the "fuller/bigger sound" not necessarily louder, I always have full PA support when required. Did some TB reading yesterday, Fenderhutz guy thread. Interesting, there was a comment late in the thread recommending taking the head and cab to a store and demo-ing the entire set-up, which is most likely what I'll end up doing. Thanks all for the comments...

| | | | LOL I read this and feel sheepish, I have the Micro Stack and admit the whole Ohms/Wattage thing for me is cloudy, i read up on it when i get a chance, but still do not get it 100%, but the amp is perfect for what I need it for... |

| | | | yes There will be a significant increase in volume running 200w into 4 speakers as compared to running 150w into 2 speakers. If you stack them vertically, recommended for LOUD situations, you’ll hear the amp all the much more. It should cover most gigging requirements, IMO. |

I have been loving the tone and the extra power. It makes a huge difference in my opinion, more power, fuller tone, it sounds more complex to my ears. I love the flexibility of having the two cabs and being able to stack them if things get loud.
Even at very low living room volume, having two cabs sound better than one.
Having two matching cabs makes a big difference. I tried two odd cabs and the result was not good.
I have an Ampeg SVT-CL on the way and I'll be testing this configuration next.
