Ampeg Micro VR-200 + JBL E140

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi

I want to replace my Ampeg B-100r combo. I canīt afford a big ampeg amp. I already have a JBL e-140 speaker in 4 ohms. My idea is to sell the combo and buy an Ampeg Micro VR head and then build a cabinet for the JBL e-140 following JBL specifications.

Any idea or advise?

How did you find a 4 ohm E 140 ? I thought they only made 8 ohm models?

Nice !!!
I also was thing of the Micro VR head, with a 2x15 cab.
Some real old school thump.
Was going to contact Fliptops, to see if they can do there B25B cab. (2x15 in 4 ohms)

It was recone with an original cone and a 4 ohms coil. It looks like new. I try it on the B-100R, I got a little more attack and clarity, but it was not what I wanted.

I dont know how the Micro VR will work, I hope it gets enough power to move the E-140 with dignity.

I'd just copy an existing 115 cab or try to find an empty one. Just be sure to add some blue-silver sparkle grill cloth to match the VR head
