Exclamation "AMPEG MICRO-VR AMP HEAD" v.s. "B200H ACOUSTIC BASS HEAD"

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I have been contemplating since yesterday on what amp head/cabinet combo I should buy.

Should I go with the "Ampeg Micro-VR w/the Mini Stack Cab" (Both 200 Watts) or the "Acoustic B200H w/Acoustic B410 Stack" (Head is 200 Watts, Cab is 400 Watts)?

Ampeg Combo = $600

Acoustic Combo = $550

I am only really asking this because I want to know if Ampeg's are what they are all cracked up to be.

Also, I could swap heads with cabs (Micro-VR head w/Acoustic Cab, Acoustic Head w/Ampeg Cab)

Any suggestions would be helpful!

Thanks!

Kind of comparing apples and oranges here. The Ampeg has the better sound pound for pound IMHO. The Micro VR head is much better sounding to me. But the Acoustic cab is a bigger regular sized 410 cab so it'll go louder and sound deeper in the lows because of it. The only thing is to me the sound of that Acoustic cab is OK but a 410 Ampeg cab would blow it off the map, and if you put two of those 210AV cabs against the Acoustic, it would blow it off the map as well. At least it would to me.
