Ampeg micro VR or B200R

Sign in to disble this ad
So i need new stuff and i'm having trouble choosing between these two Ampegs:

Ampeg micro VR stack
Ampeg B200R

The micro stack imo has the advantage of being a separate cab and head. Tried it in the store and sounded real good. If i buy this one it will be a new one and it's the most expensive of the two (600 euro).

The B200R is second handed and slightly cheaper (520 euro), and is also a bit more powerful (220W), but maybe it has the disadvantage of being a combo. I haven't seen the B200R yet, but i read many people had buzzing issues with this guy, which makes me hesitate a bit.

What say you?

Yes on the buzzing issues. Go for the micro.

Get the Micro VR

I love that little amp every time I try it....and I own a B100R

The B200R was a problematic amp for a lot of people.

I've been torn over whether I want to replace my USA B100R with the Micro Stack, thats how much I like the VR...... just my 2c but it's a no brainer picking the VR over the B200R

I'd hold on to the B100R, that amp is a gem IMO. The Ampeg Micro VR is indeed a cool little head. A little underpowered for gigging(unless its smaller venues), but a sweet little head for sure. The B200R wasn't a particularly successful amp. There seems to be issues with several of them.
