-AMPEG MICRO VR- Best amp ever, or what?

Does anyone else share my enthusiasm about this little rig? Honestly believe this is the best amp out there. Even better than the actual VR in my opinion.

Yeah, ditto that. I usually just use the D.I. though (which gives me an unexpected hard-on), so it all works out for me at least.

Sorry Hank, I'm glad you like the amp and all, but there are way too many offerings out there appealing to our diverse brother/sisterhood for any single amp to bear that title.

But is it the best amp for metal...?

Glad you like it. Times have never been better for bassist, gear wise.

The fan on mine does not bother me at all - I don't even notice when it's on. I love the amp with the single 210AV cab, but I have the same noise problem that has been discussed here when I add the second cab. AFAIC, it's unusable with the two 210AV's, but fantastic otherwise.

They launched the ampeg pf500 this year. Was stunned by the micro vr but went for the pf 500 and it is unbelievable! it's seriously underpriced. And yes, it is better than the vr in many ways

Until my (and others) issue gets fixed/resolved I will hold out my praise.

It sounds great, to a degree. Then it doesn't sound great at all.

I love mine. But remember, it's not supposed to be able to replace a bigger stack (SVT+810). If you need that kind of volume, the Micro VR will dissapoint. For small to medium gigs with PA support and a not-too-loud drummer, it's nice.

+1 to the "there's too many great amps" already to call this one the greatest. Sure, it's a great small sized solid state amp, but beyond that, sorry, no.
