I just found that the Ampeg micro head has changed in design.

Sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find it in the search.

You can't realistically get 200 watts worth of tubes and transformers into something that size.
If you want tubes, you might like the V4B better, if you don't like the Micro, but I think the Micro sounds great, really.

I have one of the first design, decent sounding for what it is and pretty good as a practice amp of for when I don't feel like carrying the real deal around, but there seems to be a lot of dead space in the amp. Like they tried to make it look exactly like a mini-SVT/8x10 (and did a good job) but things like the valance and front grill are mostly just cosmetic. This looks like they tried to make the space a little more functional. |

The "New" design is actually the original photos from Ampeg before the Micro-VR actually hit the streets. I know this because I had one of the very first Micro-VR available and when I pulled the amp out of the box, I was surprised to see it didn't look like the original photos, with the nicer switch.
