Ampeg pb 210 with Ampeg B2re?

I was looking at the Ampeg PB210H porta bass....Its 2 10in speakers, 4 ohms, 400 watts...My new head I ordered (ampeg b2re) is rated at 450 watts at 4 ohms? Should I consider this set up or not? any experience?

the portabass line was once described by ampeg's former chief engineer as a great little head ruined by very inefficient cabs. i'd pass on that reason alone. plus i can't see wasting 4 ohm operation on just a 210.

I used to run the exact same rig, careful not to overpower it because you will blow a speaker IMHO

+1- pass on the speaker cab, and in fact, if you're wanting a 2x10, get an 8 ohm 210- you'll be wanting more volume very soon, and if you get a 4 ohm 210, you cannot add another cab.

Having actually owned 2 of them, the PB210H is much louder and punchier than my new SVT210AV. MUCH more beef when played side by side, but the box is bigger. I wish it was 8 ohm, but it was designed to work with the 250watt at 4 ohms head.
