Ampeg pf 350 or 500. 400 watt cabs. Please help

Sign in to disble this ad
So I have a svt 1x12 300 watts at 8 ohms and a svt 1x15 200 watts at 8 Ohms. So I am at 400 but could always replace the 15 with one that could handle 300 and be at 600. So should I be safe and get the 350 or would not be to stupid to get the 500 and try an keep from pushing it to hard and eventually upgrade my 15.

First post. Kinda a dummy. Please help

If you can afford the 500, get the 500. You can turn a 500 down, but you can only turn the 350 up so much.

You'll be fine with either one. Its quite common to have an amp that puts out more power than your cab is rated for. Don't worry about it.

I'd go with the one with better sound. Nothing to worry about the power unless you crank the amp wisely - without distroting the cabs.

Pushing amps above their limits you can fry even 1000W cab using only one PF 350.

Uhhh, why do keep posting the same thing over and over, and starting new threads about it?

The PF500 also has more tonal control. Just watch your master volume, so as not to peg it...
