Ampeg PF115he + PF115lf = ?

I have an Ampeg PF500 head and a PF115he cab that I've been using for a while now. I'm considering getting another 15" cab to add to it and always assumed I'd get another PF115he for it, but I was checking out the new Portaflex LF cabinets and found the PF115lf. I know the lf's are ported and the he's are sealed, but how would they sound combined? Same size speakers, but would the cab's different voicings interfere with one another?

Thanks all!

I don't own either cab, but I do have a PF500, and I wondered the same thing.
I bet it would work just fine, (to my ears, anyway).

it'll work, but the truly matching 15 would probably work better, as in being more even and balanced overall.

the LF is physically bigger, so the stack looks kinda mismatched, too.

Interestingly, the PF115LF actually has a higher low end roll off than the PF115HE according to Ampeg at 57 Hz vs 50 Hz. I assume this to be the -3 dB point. The PF115LF has a lower -10dB point of 32 Hz vs 35 Hz but that's hardly relevant to any real life playing situation. I'd match cabs myself. Two PF115HE with a PF500 can be a monstrous portable rig. I miss mine but I never needed them.

I had the PF210HE and sold it and got the PF410HLF.
I really like the more open sound of the HLF.
They're both good, just depends on if you like the ported tone better.
As always, try before you buy, if possible.

I totally notice the deeper low end in the PF115he's as compared to my other cabs, and I'm sure I'd notice the difference between these two cabs, though I haven't played the LF yet.

Oh yeah Jimmy, these are no doubt low reaching cabs. I was just saying that the differences at the -10 dB point are pretty insignificant, especially considering the higher bass will overpower it all day long.

I'll have to try the LF in person. The specs on these cabs seem a wee bit strange considering their LF designation...
