2. Depends on the mic...with a 57, right on it.
3. Whatever...I did it at a medium volume, and I did it at a low volume. If you can give it some juice, you can keep mic volume down and reduce bleed, but don't blow out the rest of the band or anything.
Also, with a 57, I recommend blending mic with a DI for the lows since the 57 doesn't have much on the low end. | Thanks Jimmy for this input I am going to print this out and take it with me tonight and discuss with my sound guys and see what I can get shaking. I never would have thought to use a blend fo mic-ed and DI-ed inputs, amazing!!!

I want to hook up my Sans Amp BDDI as well but am not sure of the order of connections.
Do I plug my guitar into the input on the Sans Amp first and then connect the Sans Amp (via output) to the PF-500, and if so, through which input? Is it the input on the front of the PF-500 or one of the FX jacks on the back?
Thanks in advance! |

For gigs I'm wondering whats the biggest rig i could power from the 350? Could the 350 handle two 115s? or a 410? Or would it be simpler to just go DI and use the 115 as a monitor? Or mic the 115? |

Did I miss something?
I use mine with PF-115HE. I will add PF-210HE in the future for ultimate rig.

Or mic the 115? | Sure it's simpler to go DI from the head and use the 115 as a monitor. Micing the cab sounds great if you have a decent mic, though. AKG has one called the P2 that's only $100 but looks like it would be great for micing bass cabs. But even if you bring your own mic, you will find that unless you hire the soundman yourself, some of them will balk at your mic and make you go DI. But I really dig micing cabs and would do it still if I hadn't got a REDDI.
And you can use any size cab rig you want with the PF350 as long as your total speaker impedance doesn't go below 4 ohms.

The place we played has a great sound guy and everything goes direct to FOH. It does tend to get vocal/monitor-heavy on stage, and that is where I have had some issues in the past: being able to hear me without playing over the FOH mix.
It was great. The rig definitely provided the 'thump' I needed to hear and no gripes from the sound guy. I took the rear casters off for a little 'tilt' and that was enough. The cab still stayed on top without moving and I could hear. This worked much better than the 4x10 I had been lugging around earlier. I wish he had been mic'ing the cab, as I loved the way it sounded on stage....
No issues all night with amp or cab, so next time I won't bring the 4-Pro as backup (though I'll not be selling it...).
So now it's off to acquire another 115LF for unsupported gigs.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: West Chester, PA | | | Finally got a chance to play throught my newly arrived PF350 over the weekend. My initial reaction is that this is a GREAT little amp! Warm "Ampeg" tone. I love the simplicity of the EQ (give me a mid centered at 500 and I'm good to go!). Really nice clean tone, and you can get a bit of drive in there as well.
I'm running the 350 through 2 Genz Focus 15s whick are very warm and mid-present so the whole package works very nicely! The amp sounds great through the whole range but seems to have a lot of response in the highs - I'm finding that I have to roll the treble way back even with the bottom cab's tweeter off and the upper cabs tweeter at -6db.

| | | Just got my rig set up and I have to say I am very pleased. Ampeg PF-500 paired with the SVT-410HLF.
At first I had problems when turning the volume up a bit, it would make a POP! noise and then cut out for 2 seconds.
I figured out that I have to use the on-board compression to avoid overloading the gain stage (I play with an Ibanez 305-DX and the output from that bass is very hot!). After I figured that bit out, its a great combination. I love the tone.
It gets that really thick growly sound on the low B with enough mids to cut through. Even the higher notes are bassy!
Also, the FX blend is a great feature for someone like me who uses alot of effects for solo things.
