Ampeg PF350 with Epifani PS112
Anyone tried out, owned, or have experience with the Ampeg PF350 paired with an Aguilar PS112? I'm not really interested in the PF350 with the Portaflex cabs...I really tend to dig 12s for this type of micro rig.
I'm considering using these 2 together for a small, portable practice/recording/small room rig with the possibility of adding another PS112 for slightly louder applications and medium rooms. Does this particular combination have a reputation for being louder or seeming underpowered compared to other rigs in this wattage range?
It seems like they might work well together for the thick, fat vintage tone I'm after. I considered the PS112 with an Ashdown Mibass 220, but I think it would be a little underpowered. I'd really like to try the Mibass 550 or Aguilar ToneHammer 350 with the PS112, but funds are kinda tight right now.
Thanks for any help!
Never did it with the Epifani cab, but the PF350's a killer little amp. Had one for a couple years now. Has the sound and the EQ's really simple and easy to get good sounds. And Ampeg's got a new SVT 112av cab coming out any day now, probably early September. Might want to check into that as well. Should sound righteously vintage with the tweeter off. Not very familiar with Epifani stuff at all but they have a good rep.
